Selene Museum
The Selene Museum atrium is a spacious, luminous hall designed to feel calm and otherworldly. At the center of the lower floor stands a striking abstract sculpture that anchors the space, drawing visitors inward. The surrounding walls are lined with unusual, textured art pieces that seem to blur the line between architecture and installation, giving the atrium a surreal, contemplative atmosphere. Originally a train station, the building’s vast, open design contributes to the airy, expansive feel of the atrium. The museum’s name, Selene, is inspired by the Greek goddess of the moon, a connection echoed by the half-moon–shaped sculpture perched above the information desk, which used to be a ticket office. Together, the celestial reference and the quiet, open design give the atrium a gently cosmic, dreamlike character rather than that of a busy, conventional museum interior.
